Reflections on art and my music

Revisiting several key concepts in contemporary aesthetics, this article advances a desacralized vision of art — one that removes all traces of transcendence and metaphysics — while reaffirming its necessary link with critical and philosophical thinking. Art can be formally defined as an imminent process of transformation through critical reflection, characterized by a successive questioning of its very existence. From a global perspective, art appears to spring from a human need, an activity, among others, that might not exist but for this inherently human response. The author, himself a composer, demonstrates several facets of his own response that spring from this vision.
